Free software and free energy

The New Mexico Gnu Linux Users group is setting up and configuring a new server using free software for the New Mexico Solar Energy Association (www.nmsea.org). The new server will be running Debian Gnu/Linux, Apache webserver, PHP, MySQL database and other cool Free software.

Desired features include:

- Web server
- Email server
- List server
- An event calender that is easy to maintain
- A database for storing Solar Professionals Directory.
- Web store (secure server)
- Event registration on-line.
- Ability for members to sign up and renew membership on-line
- Ability for Solar Professionals to request listing and update listings on-line

There may be other features desired. The first step is to get the server up and running and replace the existing outsourced web site, other features may be added later.

The New Mexico Solar Energy Association (NMSEA) is a educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to promoting solar energy and related sustainable practices.
